Job Summary/Basic Function: This is a pooled position. Applicants are selected from the pool as positions become available. After a period of time, the pool will expire and applicants will be notified. The Campus Recreation student junior graphic designer is responsible for assisting the Marketing Graphic Designer and Marketing Coordinator with designing print and web graphics for all Campus Recreation program areas, including flyers, posters, manuals, brochures, web banners, and more. The position will be responsible for updating and adapting existing graphics as well as producing graphics from concept through production. This position will help prepare the student for a career in graphic design through hands-on experience, including communicating with clients from various program areas, fulfilling project requirements, designing within printer specifications, and meeting deadlines. It will also provide the student with design pieces for their portfolio. This position reports to the Marketing Coordinator.
Required Qualifications: Applicant must have creative design skills and demonstrable knowledge of composition design, as well as a working knowledge of the Adobe Suite (Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop). The student will be required to take publications to the copy center or printing services for print. The applicant must be outgoing and willing to help plan activities and events. Prefer applicants with awarded work-study status.

Responsibilities:
- Designing clear and engaging graphics for print (including flyers, posters, brochures, banners)
- Adapting print designs for web applications (including social media graphics, web banners, and digital graphics for the CR & Davis Digital Signage)
- Following WSU branding standards
- Completing designs by assigned due dates
- Continued training through personalized training programs via LinkedIn Learning
- Provide a safe environment and safe activities for all participants
- Provide care in emergency situations when necessary
- Maintain a professional, friendly, attentive presence
- Assist with maintenance and cleanliness of all facilities
- Educate, observe, and enforce all facility rules in a friendly and helpful manner
- Educate participants on benefits of fitness and wellness
- Maintain current CPR and First Aid certifications
- Attend mandatory monthly meetings, orientations, and staff development workshops
- Read, understand, and abide by all employee policies and procedures stated in the Campus Recreation student employee manual
- Provide excellent customer service that encourages a climate of mutual respect
- Be a team player with your Supervisor peers as well as other Campus Recreation employees and communicate in a positive, professional manner
- Be knowledgeable of Campus Recreation programs and services so that you may serve as a positive, socially conscious advocate of Campus Recreation
- Participate in bi-annual evaluation process to reflect on work performance, professional skills, and set personal and professional goals for the future
- Perform other duties as specified by the Marketing Coordinator and/or Campus Recreation Director and Associate Director
