Job Summary/Basic Function
Marketing & Communications at Weber State University seeks a sophomore or junior student majoring in digital media, multimedia journalism, film studies, visual arts or another photo/video-related field to assist in helping Marcom create educational and informational video content.
The student must already have produced and edited videos prior to this job, as this person will be responsible for filming and editing videos for platforms such as YouTube for Weber State University. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently are essential.
This position will also serve as a backup to our project manager, offering opportunities to support project coordination efforts. Ideal for a Weber State student looking to gain hands-on experience in video production and digital content creation. This experience can count as a paid internship.
Responsibilities
- Assist on photo and video shoots.
- Photograph events and daily life at Weber State.
- Other office duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Applicants should be creative and have strong communication skills; possess good work habits and can assist with multiple projects at a time; have familiarity with pre- and post-production work.
Preferred Qualifications
We are seeking applicants who can represent the university in a professional manner; have a willingness to take direction; have familiarity with cameras, lighting, audio equipment, editing and interviewing; have the desire to convey stories through videos and photos.

Due to the Affordable Care Act (ACA), individuals who have worked in a salaried capacity for Weber State University are ineligible to be hired as an hourly or adjunct employee at Weber State for six months. A criminal background check is required as a condition of employment.
*This is a pooled position. Applicants are selected from the pool as positions become available.

Physical Activity: Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees; bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine; extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction; standing, particularly for sustained periods of time; moving about to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances; using upper extremities to press against something with steady force; grasping; feeling; expressing or exchanging ideas; receiving detailed information with or without assistance; repetitive motion.
Physical Requirements: Sedentary work, exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally; light work, exerting up to 20 lbs of force occasionally; medium work, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally.
Visual Acuity Requirements
Required to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data; required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
Conditions of Employment
