The University Videographer & Photographer will be responsible for producing high-quality video and photo content that supports the university’s marketing, branding and communications efforts. This role involves all aspects of video production, including pre-production planning, filming, post-production editing, and delivery of final products as well as photos. The ideal candidate will have expertise in videography and photography, video and photography editing and drone operation, and will work to create engaging visual content used to tell the university’s story.
Duties
- Collaborate with the social media and creative teams to concept, film and edit video and photo content for university marketing assets including television, social media, the university’s website and other promotional mediums.
- Operate and oversee video and photography equipment, including cameras, gimbals, drones, lighting and microphones.
- Manage post-production processes, including photo and video editing, sound design, color correction and the integration of graphics, effects and music.
- Ensure all video and photography content aligns with the university’s brand guidelines and meets technical specifications.
- Ability to manage individual and group environmental, event and studio photography shoots.
- Use of university drones for aerial footage, photography and other visual content as needed.
- Maintain and organize video and photo files and digital assets for easy retrieval and archival purposes.
- Stay updated on the latest video and photography trends, techniques and software tools to continuously improve the quality of work.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Associate or bachelor’s degree in film, photography, multimedia, communications or a related field or 5 years of equivalent work experience.
Job Knowledge
Proven experience in videography, video production, and post-production editing. Familiarity with photography approaches and editing software (Photoshop, Lightroom). Proficiency with video editing software (Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, After Effects). Experience operating drones for video and photography (an FAA Part 107 Certification will be required for operation). Strong understanding of videography principles, lighting techniques and audio capture. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Must be knowledgeable of university policies and procedures. Must be able to handle multiple deadlines and maintain accuracy. Must be sensitive to cultural differences within the University and community. Fluent in Microsoft Office Applications.
Working Conditions/ Physical Demands (With or Without Accommodations)
Normal office environment, may travel some within the community when needed. May be required to transport equipment and materials. Able to clearly communicate with a diverse population of individuals. Ability to compose correspondence and reports. May be required to work additional hours or days depending on circumstances. Work may also involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day
