Job Description

The individual in this position will be responsible for the design, testing, documentation and upkeep of the Corporate data Network.

Extensive troubleshooting abilities are required.

Candidates need to have strong skills (not just knowledge) in routing protocols OSPF, BGP; Cisco switching Nexus 7k; dual supervisor cards and Cisco hardware 6509.

Experience in working with DNS & DHCP and a full understanding of the system process is necessary.

Strong knowledge of Networking, Switches, Routers, Hubs, Load Balancers, LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, QoS, BGP, OSPF, ATM, PPP, Ethernet, and WIFI is essential.

Tier 3 support for Network issues is required.

The Engineer will troubleshoot and resolve Network-related issues that have been escalated from the CSC organization and Corporate Network Engineer organization.

Responsibilities include planning and designing the future corporate Network, lab testing new equipment and processes, and creating support documentation and procedures for the corporate data Network.

Install, configure and maintain new equipment and software for Networks.

Utilize monitoring tools to evaluate Network performance and assess where changes are needed in growing areas of the Network.

Maintain Network drawings and documents with current configurations and supporting data (i.e. circuit ID’s) and document Network problems and resolutions for future reference.

Qualifications

Extensive hands-on experience with Cisco Network equipment is required.

Extensive Network troubleshooting experience is essential.

Able to work collaboratively with others and independently without supervision.

Strong organizational skills and Network planning ability are necessary.

Willingness to work extra hours and participate in an on-call rotation is required.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential. Working knowledge of maintenance, monitoring protocols and software is necessary. Travel may be required as necessary.

Knowledge of Cisco Nexus/NX-OS ISr. routers, Cisco Catalyst Switches, Cisco Wireless Access Points, F5, Citrix Netscaler and ACE products is beneficial.

Professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP or equivalent are a plus, but not necessary.
