Junior Production Artist Job at Smartdept. inc. in Pompano Beach

smartdept. is searching for a Junior Production Artist for a candy retailer client located in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The ideal candidate will come with 2+ years of experience. This is a part-time, onsite (3x's a week- Tues., Wed., Thurs.) contract opportunity with the possibility of an extension. Compensation for this position is expected to be $18-20/hour depending on experience level and fit.

What You’ll Do:

• Handle artwork adaptation, mechanical production, photo retouching/manipulation, and pre-press tasks
• Assist Director of Merchandising with setting up product in the corporate office
• Ensure integrity of design intent throughout the production process
• Create brand guides and lay out digital representations of products
• Photo retouching, image manipulation, and product renders
• Obtain, understand, and implement print/production specifications for each job
• Build final files for internal review and release to vendors
• Verify accuracy of copy and regulated package elements
• Organize and maintain production files and master art as needed

What You’ll Need:

• Education/Experience:
• Associate's degree in design or certificate in related field
• Adobe Creative Suite is a must - InDesign, Photoshop etc.
• 2-3 years of experience (can include internships and 1 year of TRUE professional production experience)
