Open Position: Content Creator and Strategist
Department: Marketing
Reports to: Director of Marketing & Product Development

Are you a passionate content creator with a flair for the creative? The Oklahoma Lottery is looking to add a member to our fun and innovative marketing team! We’re searching for a highly-motivated and creative social media content creator who can contribute to existing programs while assisting in the development of new and exciting initiatives.

Position Detail: This position is not your standard social media manager; we are looking for a strategic, creative content creator. This position will plan, coordinate, and produce creative assets to be published on all of the Oklahoma Lottery’s social media platforms. To be successful in the role, you will need to maximize engagement with players through highly creative and strategic content that promotes all products, winner awareness, activations, and promotions daily. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the brand’s success by conceptualizing and producing exceptional content while building a vibrant social media community.

Tasks and Duties:

  1. Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure that each piece of content is relevant and in line with the department’s strategic plans.
  2. Brainstorm and curate social media content respective to each platform and strategy, including graphics and videos.
  3. Assist in maintaining an editorial calendar to ensure consistent production and timely delivery.
  4. Ensure that all social media efforts are maximizing engagement and reach.
  5. Work on original content but also able to work with the graphic design team to create dynamic content, graphics, and experiences.
  6. Able to create consistent brand storytelling through various platforms in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Strategize both big and small ideas to promote lottery products consistent with the marketing plan and present those ideas to the Director of Marketing & Product Development for internal development.
  8. Work with the data team to review and analyze performance metrics to inform future content strategies.
  9. Conduct research to stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices while also continuously monitoring digital marketing trends in general.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Skills, Education and/or Experience:

  1. Exceptionally skilled with image curation, visual storytelling, and maintaining brand standards.
  2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as outstanding copywriting and proofreading skills.
  3. Must be a self-starter and able to independently move projects forward, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  4. Extensive knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite preferred.
  5. Video editing, production, and photography experience a plus. (i.e. Canva, Reels, VSCO, Lightroom, Afterlight, InShot, etc.)
  6. Demonstrated experience in creating content on different social media platforms. 1-3 years’ experience is preferred. Must establish a track record of building an engaged community.
  7. Direct experience with social media management tools (i.e. Sprout) and ad placement strategies a plus.
  8. Must have proficient organizational and project management skills, as well as a strong attention to detail.
  9. Firm grasp on various social media platforms and how to effectively utilize content.
  10. Comfortable multitasking various creative campaigns and projects.
  11. Proficiency in standard desktop applications to include all Microsoft Office products.
  12. Occasional travel may be required.
