Sompo has a unique opportunity for a Senior Graphic Designer in our Marketing team.

This position will support the Global Creative Director in executing the creative vision and strategy for a global B2B insurance organization. Our design team plays a vital role in shaping how we communicate and engage with our audiences across a variety of platforms. We are seeking an experienced and creative Senior Graphic Designer to join our dynamic global marketing team. This position is responsible for managing day-to-day creative projects and guiding other designers and vendors to ensure high-quality, brand-consistent visual content. The ideal candidate will have a strong design background, be an expert in design principles, possess strong leadership and communication skills, and have a high level of creativity and problem-solving ability, with the capacity to translate complex insurance concepts into engaging and impactful designs.

Location: This position will be based out of our NYC, Purchase NY, Morristown NJ, Conshohocken PA or Boston, MA office.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Assist the Creative Director in evolving the company’s visual brand identity by developing and executing innovative design strategies that align with the organization’s brand and business objectives.
  • Design and produce high-quality assets for print, digital, video, and large format.
  • Manage multiple design projects from concept to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope.
  • Assess incoming creative projects for required information.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather project requirements and feedback.
  • Manage budget, source and manage external vendors.
  • Ensure all creative outputs meet the highest quality standards and adhere to brand guidelines.
  • Mentor and guide other designers fostering a collaborative and creative work environment.
  • Review and approve designs, providing constructive feedback.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and design technologies.
  • Encourage the team to explore new design approaches and technologies.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand business goals and translate them into effective visual communications.
  • Lead brainstorming sessions to generate innovative ideas.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and agencies as needed.
  • Assist with client presentations/deliverables.

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Fine Arts/Graphic Design or a related discipline.
  • 7+ years of experience as a graphic designer with a strong portfolio.
  • B2B or B2C experience preferably in the insurance or financial industry.
  • In-house creative department experience preferred.
  • Strong expertise in design principles, typography, color theory, layout, and brand identity development.
  • Proven experience in evolving and maintaining a brand’s visual identity.
  • Knowledge of creating design systems and brand guidelines.
  • Expert print and digital production skills.
  • Strong creative portfolio highlighting relevant experience.
  • Proficient in industry-standard design software, including Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire creativity and adapt to varying work styles.

Salary Range: $120,000 – $150,000. Actual compensation will depend on several factors including cost of living, qualifications, skills, competencies, and relevant experience.
