Sompo has a unique opportunity for a Senior Graphic Designer in our Marketing team.
This position will support the Global Creative Director in executing the creative vision and strategy for a global B2B insurance organization. Our design team plays a vital role in shaping how we communicate and engage with our audiences across a variety of platforms. As part of our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and creative Senior Graphic Designer to join our dynamic global marketing team. This position is responsible for managing day-to-day creative projects, and guiding other designers and vendors to ensure high-quality, brand-consistent visual content. The ideal candidate will have a strong design background, expert in design principles, strong leadership and communication skills, and a high level of creativity and problem-solving, and the ability to translate complex insurance concepts into engaging and impactful designs.

What you’ll be doing:
- Assist the Creative Director in evolving the company’s visual brand identity by developing and executing innovative design strategies that align with the organization’s brand and business objectives.
- Design and produce high-quality assets for both print (brochures, reports, collateral), digital (websites, emails, social media), video (motion graphics, animated assets), and large format (trade show displays, posters, signage).
- Manage multiple design projects from concept to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope.
- Assess incoming creative projects for required information.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather project requirements and feedback, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Manage budget, source and manage external vendors.
- Ensure all creative outputs meet the highest quality standards and adhere to brand guidelines.
- Mentor and guide other designers fostering a collaborative and creative work environment.
- Review and approve designs, providing constructive feedback to maintain design excellence.
- Stay informed about industry trends, design technologies, and competitive activities to keep creative outputs fresh, innovative and impactful.
- Encourage the team to explore new design approaches and technologies.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, including senior leadership, product teams, and marketing, to understand business goals and translate them into effective visual communications across all touchpoints.
- Lead brainstorming sessions to generate innovative ideas.
- Collaborate with external vendors and agencies as needed to deliver creative solutions.
- Assist with client presentations/deliverables.
What you’ll bring:
- Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Fine Arts/Graphic Design or a related discipline.
- 7+ years of experience as a graphic designer with a strong portfolio showcasing work across various media (print, digital, video, and large format).
- Must have experience (B2B or B2C) preferably in the insurance or financial industry.
- In-house creative department experience preferred.
- Strong expertise in design principles, typography, color theory, layout, and brand identity development.
- Proven experience in evolving and maintaining a brand’s visual identity.
- Knowledge of creating design systems and brand guidelines.
- Expert print and digital production skills.
- Strong creative portfolio highlighting relevant experience.
- Proficient in industry-standard design software, including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), After Effects, Premiere Pro video editing and motion design tool knowledge a plus. Strong PowerPoint presentation skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work that meets both aesthetic and functional objectives.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to reprioritize to meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse and global teams.
- Ability to inspire creativity and adapt to varying work styles.
Salary Range: $120,000 – $150,000. Actual compensation for this role will depend on several factors including the cost of living associated with your work location, your qualifications, skills, competencies, and relevant experience.
