Research Assistant - Tulare County Law Library (Visalia)

Current vacancy is with the Tulare County Law Library located in Visalia. The role includes the following responsibilities:

1. Assist the public in locating and selecting legal reference materials and researching legal issues.
2. Teach basic legal research techniques to patrons using print and electronic legal resources and reference tools.
3. Process library materials, including receiving, cataloguing, classifying, collating, binding, and shelving reference and resource materials.
4. File reference materials alphabetically, numerically, and chronologically.
5. Receive and record payments for photocopier and library services.
6. Maintain accurate cataloguing and indexing systems and inventory.
7. Monitor use of all library resources and maintain security.
8. Establish and maintain good working relationships with library patrons, County Departments, and other libraries.
9. Operate office equipment and maintain the quiet and orderly operation of the library.
10. Prepare invoices, deposit records, reports, correspondence, and memoranda.
11. Process interlibrary loan requests.
12. Attend professional meetings and continuing education training sessions as directed.
13. Recommend proposals to the Law Library Director for modifying, improving, and expanding services and materials.

Salary: $45,488.00 - $55,438.00 Annually
