Music Director Job at Doe River Baptist Church in Elizabethton

Doe River Baptist Church (Elizabethton, TN) is seeking a spirit-filled believer eager to share their gift of music as a part-time Music Director.

DRB is a small multigenerational congregation with desire and potential to grow. DRB desires to employ a music director to lead us in music and song. We enjoy a variety of music ranging from classic hymns, southern gospel, and contemporary.

Expectations

1. Work with the Pastor and musicians to facilitate and support praise and worship.
2. Attend church services and related activities.
3. Plan and direct regular musical practices.
4. Incorporate and welcome musicians within the congregation to participate in the music ministry of our church (Specials, adding instruments to the praise team, choir, etc.).
5. Share a vision of church growth and be willing to help achieve this goal.
6. Be willing to listen, lead, and follow.
7. Possess and exhibit musical ability.

The ideal candidate will have a personal relationship with the Lord, experience leading singing in a church setting, a desire to interact with the church family, participate in church programs/activities, and familiarity with the Southern Baptist doctrine. The candidate must also display the ability to work with a multigenerational congregation by incorporating traditional and contemporary musical styles. The ability to read music or play an instrument is desired, but not required.
