Position/Title: News Producer-836

KENS-TV in San Antonio is looking for a temporary News Producer. The ideal candidate is a passionate storyteller who excels at showcasing the news of the day and delivering interesting and engaging content to the public.

We’re looking for someone to share innovative ideas for daily content while maintaining close attention to detail. This producer must be able to write concisely and execute the goals of the newscast with near perfection, while also meeting tight deadlines.

Responsibilities:

1. Create, write, and edit content for newscasts.
2. Use creative production techniques such as graphics and new forms of media (viewer pictures, webcam interviews, etc.) to enhance stories.
3. Manage timing of newscasts and communicate with production crew and anchors to facilitate clean execution.
4. Perform other tasks as required by supervisor or executive producer.

Requirements:

1. BA/BS in journalism, communications or related field.
2. 1-3 years of experience preferred.
3. Understanding of the tenets of professional journalism.
4. Skills in producing engaging, content-driven newscasts and digital content.
5. Knowledge of ENPS and Axis graphics a plus.
