Position Title: STUDENT POSITION: 2024/2025 - CALL CENTER OPERATOR/FAITH RADIO

Location: Main Campus

Department: Faith Radio (6050)

Time of Day: Regular Business Hours, Evenings

Number of Hours per Week: 20

Position Summary Info:

The fall fundraiser will occur September 9-12. Spring fundraiser is TBD.

Position Description Summary:

Phone operator – take phone calls from listeners/donors during our fundraiser events and enter their gift or pledge with great attention to detail. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, basic computer and typing skills, previous customer service experience preferred.

There is a mandatory training session that will need to be completed prior to working. The presentation covers the use of our gift registration system that is required for this position. The training session could be offered via video or in person and is up to 1 hour and paid.

  • Answer incoming calls, enthusiastically greeting callers
  • Accurately and efficiently enter caller and donation information into the computer system
  • Keep all caller and donor information confidential
  • Abide by all University policies

Wage: $12.48 per hour

Eligibility: STUDENT POSITIONS ARE OPEN TO INDIVIDUALS ENROLLED IN A MINIMUM OF 1 ON-CAMPUS TRAD COURSE (INCLUDING PSOC) AT UNW.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be detail-oriented, organized, and self-disciplined
  • Able to interact with a variety of individuals in a professional, tactful, and courteous manner
  • Have strong phone and customer service skills
  • Able to maintain confidential information
  • Must have proficient computer skills and ability to enter data accurately
  • Able to work independently and take initiative
  • Understanding of and agreement with University of Northwestern’s Declaration of Christian Community and Doctrinal Statement is essential

Working Conditions:

Mental/Motor Demand Factors:

  • Ability to demonstrate self-direction, concentration, personal grooming/hygiene, reading, writing, problem-solving skills, and tact approximately 75% of the time
  • Ability to demonstrate time awareness and verbal reasoning approximately 60% of the time

Physical Demand Factors:

  • Ability to sit approximately 60% of the time, walk approximately 30% of the time, and stand approximately 10% of the time
  • Ability to lift, while stationary, up to 20 pounds, carry, while moving, up to 20 pounds, demonstrate reaching, fingering, talking, and hearing skills approximately 60% of the time
  • Ability to work alone or with others or around others or with customer/public contact 100% of the time
