User Experience Design Intern Summary:
As the Walsworth UX Design Intern, you will have the opportunity to job shadow and support current UX designers, assist with the implementation of a design system, and interact with the technology product team. This full-time, paid internship is based out of our Walsworth - Overland Park office and reports to the Technology Product Manager. The internship lasts approximately 12 weeks, with an 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday schedule. Hybrid work may be possible after initial in-office training.
Essential Functions:
- Assist with cataloging UX design artifacts
- Collaborate on a corporate design system
- Assist with user observation and research as available
- Work with designers, business analysts, and developers to contribute to the betterment of our technology products
- Maintain strict confidentiality
- Comply with all safety and work rules and regulations
- Complete other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects
- Ability to remain organized and self-directed
- Ability to work with limited direction and supervision
- Ability to learn computer applications as necessary for the position
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Minimum Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Currently pursuing a college degree (UX design or related degree program preferred)
- Incoming Juniors and Seniors are given preference, but sophomores may be considered on a case-by-case basis
- Experience in UX design (preferred)
- Have reliable transportation to and from the assigned office location
- U.S. work authorization is required along with a pre-employment background check and drug screen
