EP-Device Nurse Clinician - UI Heart and Vascular Center
UI Heart and Vascular Center is seeking a 100% Nurse Clinician to support our Electrophysiology Device Team.
The UI Heart and Vascular Center (HVC) is seeking a Nurse Clinician to function as a clinical expert and care coordinator for EP Device patients while collaborating with physicians, patients/families, UIHC staff, and health care agencies. Responsible for in-person and remote device checks, providing education and follow-up care to patients undergoing diagnostic and surgical procedures, and maintaining open channels of communication with health care units involved in the care of cardiac implantation patients.
Scheduled hours will be between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
Education Requirement
- Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing is required.
Experience Requirement
Minimum 6 months providing direct nursing care or management/supervision of cardiovascular medical/surgical patients OR Minimum 1 year providing direct nursing care/care coordination within an outpatient setting required.
- Demonstrated competency in interrogation of pacemakers and ICDs.
- Competence in in-person and remote monitoring of single, dual, and CRT pacing systems, implanted cardiac defibrillators, and implanted loop recorders.
- Ability to positively and effectively collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team setting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Current certification in BLS required by start date.
- Current license to practice nursing in the State of Iowa required by start date.
Desired Qualifications
- 3 – 5 years clinical experience with pacemaker and ICD interrogations and reprogramming including remote monitoring.
- Experience in an academic medical setting.
- Current RCES, CCDS or CEPS certification.
- Knowledge of University policies, procedures, and practices.
