The Marketing Ma nager – Digital Subscription Retention position exists to provide leadership and direction to the Marketing team responsible for the successful development and execution of all Digital Content Subscription Retention strategic plans. This position will employ current and forward-looking research, information, and cross-functional collaboration to conceive, develop and implement strategic marketing strategies and tactics designed to retain and cultivate existing subscribers, identify opportunities to cross-sell programs or resources beneficial to retention or convert to other ministry products/resources. Success requires an outcome-driven, measurement-minded, audience-centric leader. This is a key marketing role carrying great visibility given the significant revenue and ministry impact generated by the digital content.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Audience Understanding
Is responsible for the comprehensive understanding of audience, including subscriber lifecycle, demographics, psychographics, lifestyles, preferences, needs, desires, and societal pressures
Collaborates with internal marketing, data, and research team members to provide a subscriber audience analysis and business insights into audience behaviors
Develops innovative retention strategies designed to engage and retain subscribers and expand sales/revenue generation. Success requires that measurable objectives are met
Strategic Marketing Execution
Is accountable for driving the executions against established marketing strategy for retention programs designed to meet measurable goals and objectives. Establishes and communicates project scope, strategy, and objectives to lead cross-functional teams in the development and implementation of ROI-driven omni-channel retention campaigns
Provides leadership and direction to the Marketing teams which support the Adventures in Odyssey Club, Focus Streaming Platform, Church Portal, Focus Educational Learning Environments, and the like regarding the retention of digital content self-service subscribers
Provides strategic management oversight of all aspects of retention campaigns and subscriber communication journeys including budgeting, brand/product positioning, messaging and visuals, media mix, calls to action, and response channels – ensuring that campaigns appeal to the audience and drive measurable response
Provides management oversight of all retention campaigns to ensure internal stakeholder approvals are received, deadlines are met, and provide continency planning / problem solving. Success requires that measurable objectives are met
Measurement Based Accountability
Is accountable for the tracking and analysis of digital subscription churn metrics to gain insights into behaviors that signal a likelihood to attrite
Ensures measurement, evaluation, and communication of the effectiveness of retention campaigns contributes to the success of digital subscriber programs. Works collaboratively with cross-functional team to ensure that campaign measurement and reporting structures are in place that will provide visibility to key metrics, and measure actual performance against plan for subscriber programs as a whole
Analyzes campaign results data and transforms the learnings into actionable business insights that lead to campaign optimization and enhanced ROI. Makes data-driven recommendations for testing new retention strategies and tactics – continuously driven by a test-learn-apply approach
Makes recommendations for technology needs to further the Digital Content Self-Service Subscriber Retention programs
Collaborates with Senior Marketing Manager – Acquisition to compile and develop comprehensive reports. Provides regular retention reports to Marketing Director and Marketing VP on progress to goal. Success requires that measurable objectives are met
Subscriber Trends and Insights
Knows and understands how to gather, review, and analyze subscriber data to refine and enhance retention strategies. Implements subscriber feedback loops to enhance understanding of behavior and develop communication journeys to offset attrition and/or convert to another product/resource
Works collaboratively with Senior Marketing Manager - Acquisition to understand the strengths and weaknesses of current and potential competitors, and monitors market trends for opportunities to leverage learning for campaign or product enhancements
Proactively partners with internal marketing teams to share learnings, gain new insights and maximize effectiveness of all marketing initiatives
Other Duties/Responsibilities:
Limited travel may be required for events, conferences

Knowledge/Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business with emphasis in Digital Marketing (MBA or Master’s Degree a plus)
5+ years of experience in direct marketing product/project management, advertising account management, and/or management consulting
2-3 years of experience with digital subscription program retention
Proven track record of driving measurable retention, engagement, and growth
Proven ability to manage data-using software, and interpret and use that data to make decisions
Computer proficiency in a variety of Windows-based software and other SaaS systems
Experience in giving presentations and public communication
Knowledge of digital and social media communication tools and platforms
Salesforce or Marketing Cloud experience a benefit
Skills, Abilities and Special Talents/Gifts:
Exceptional written and verbal skills – both in one-on-one and in group settings
Ability to pivot, flex and manage multiple projects and functions
High Emotional Intelligence (assessment may be given)

Salary Range: $70,716 to $81,117/yr
