The Economic Research Division of the Client Bank of St. Louis is looking for a Research and Writing Specialist. This remote role will assist in researching, writing, and developing content for the Client History website ("Fed History").

A little about us: The Economic Research Division of the Client Bank of St. Louis is known as one of the top economic research institutions in the world. Providing expert content and data to educate the public is an essential part of our mission.

A little about you: As a Research and Writing Specialist for our Fed History site, you will be at ease in the process of researching, writing, and editing content according to goals set by an in-house editorial board. Ideally, you will have at least a working knowledge of Client System and experience in the fields of history, economics, and banking. You will be able to write clear, readable, educational content for a non-academic audience even if the context is academic. You will be able to quickly incorporate team discussions, directives, and standards to deliver content with the right scope, detail, budget, and timeline. You will report to the Fed History senior coordinator and work with the Fed History analyst and subject matter experts.

Responsibilities

  • Perform in-depth research to write new site content that is unbiased, balanced, and accurate using a range of internal and external sources.
  • Work closely with advisors, subject matter experts, and other team members to ensure content is clear, readable, complete, and aligned in voice and strategic value; revise content as needed.
  • Rewrite and edit existing content to enhance educational value, accessibility, and conformity with the site's standards.
  • Work within the team's project schedule to meet deadlines and site standards to achieve goals.
  • Provide editorial quality control for the content you write.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years experience in researching and writing academic, educational, and/or journalistic content with the intention to publish
  • Experience with historical research, including the use of primary sources and citations
  • Experience establishing and maintaining organizational relationships with a diverse group of people.
