Environment Artist Intern

W2 Contract

Onsite, Rockville, MD

$25/hr + Benefits


Our company creates and publishes original interactive entertainment content for video games worldwide. We are seeking a talented entry-level Environment Artist intern to assist our team in creating AAA games!


Responsibilities:


  • Create props and blockouts
  • based on an established art direction, this being supported by using references or concept art (modeling, UV, texturing, basic animation, and integration)
  • that follow proper technical guidelines and optimize them when required
  • that both empower gameplay and are visually appealing
  • Collaborate with designers and other art disciplines to build props and blockouts that meet expectations
  • Contribute to the overall game experience through play testing and providing productive feedback


Qualifications:


  • You are comfortable with 3DsMax
  • You have some knowledge of other programs such as ZBrush and Substance Painter
  • Experience using at least one game editor such as Unreal, CryEngine, Unity, etc.
  • Skilled in modeling and texturing
  • Selfmotivated, able to take feedback and criticism and properly reflect comments in your work
  • Excellent team player with a collaborative/cooperative attitude, strong communicator, and open to an iterative process


Preferred Skills:


  • Passion for gaming, First Person Shooters in particular
  • Experience in organic prop and environment creation
  • Traditional art skills, including sketching, illustration, painting, etc.
  • University or equivalent art-related degree
