Job Description
This is an entry level Mechanical Designer position for design and documentation of new and existing products. This role will contribute directly to the mechanical design & development of electronic products for integrated RF/microwave assemblies for various applications including antennas, antenna positioners, electronic control devices, and RF systems and subsystems.

Once trained, the exciting, challenging, and always advancing world of developing new electronic products opens up. Your duties will include:
- Creating detailed technical solid models and drawings using SOLIDWORKS®.
- Creating & releasing part/drawing/document/electronic bills of materials (BOMs) records using a PLM system.
- Creating Change Orders/Notices for electronic bills of materials (BOMS), drawing/document updates, and part record updates using a PLM system.
- Collaboration with on/off site engineers, fellow designers, and procurement/planning specialists.
- Utilization of MS Office software along with AutoCAD® design tools to maintain legacy 2D documentation/product documentation.
Technical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Candidates shall be creative and shall possess deductive reasoning and problem-solving skills demonstrated through projects, experience, or training.
- A working knowledge of AutoCAD® and SolidWorks® is a plus.
- Candidates shall have the ability to learn to utilize industry drafting standards. (ASME Y14.5 Standards, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Ability to learn to utilize PLM processes, i.e. generate/update bill of materials (BOMs), part records, and documents/drawings.
- Demonstrate competency in MS Office products including Excel, PowerPoint, Word and other CRM tools.
- Ability to learn Smiths Interconnect operating procedures and practices
Education: Associate degree in Arts/Science (A.A./A.S.), technical/trade school, military training and/or post high school education is desired.
Experience: Experience in military and/or aerospace RF industry or related manufacturing is desired.
Security: U.S. Person required (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident)
