Job Summary:
Works directly with the Vice President of Fund Development & Community Relations to determine funding needs and how funds are currently being and will be used for GWH. Prepares grant requests for external organizations, i.e., foundations, government agencies, etc. Responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting data on the performance of program activities that are funded by third-party sources.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop proposals, gather supporting information and documentation, compose grants, and submit all documentation to the granting agency in a timely manner.
- Ensure all grants meet GWH guidelines and requirements, complying with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Study and understand the history, structure, objectives, programs, and financial needs of GWH.
- Maintain relationships with granting organizations and agencies.
- Gather necessary subject matter experts together for discussion and assemble information pertinent to grant applications when needed.
- Develop and maintain a master file of pending, existing, and past grants across the organization.
- Implement and maintain funding calendar activities, including specific cultivation strategies.
- Research and identify new government, corporation, foundation, and private funding prospects as well as other grant opportunities.
- Coordinate with the Finance Department to evaluate budgets, ensure grants are implemented according to the operational and financial needs of the organization, and oversee the timely completion of financial reports to funders.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of two (2) years of work experience in a relevant field.
- Proficiency with technical and letter writing.
- Experience with Raisers’ Edge.
- Excellent proofreading skills.
- Excellent computer skills: Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience in grant writing and the submission process.
- Familiarity with federal, state, and local agency regulations regarding grant programs.
