How You'll Create Possibilities
Key Responsibilities
Technical Editing
- Edit service guides, training materials, and videos to ensure compliance with GE Appliances' specifications, including grammar, spelling, formatting, and logical flow.
- Conduct comprehensive reviews using established checklists to identify and address inconsistencies or errors.
- Analyze and outline project requirements through a detailed "Project Analysis" email, based on the Table of Contents and editorial guidelines.
- Ensure graphics meet quality standards for resolution, formatting, and annotations.
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts to validate technical accuracy and finalize content.
Video Editing
- Transform raw video footage into polished, audience-ready content by merging multiple sources, adding visual and sound effects, and integrating graphics and music.
Communication & Reporting
- Provide detailed analyses and feedback to the Senior Digital Learning Service Specialist, highlighting completed tasks and unresolved issues.
- Utilize learning platforms like Raven 360, DevelopU, and EdCast LMS to deploy, track, and report training and learning content.
What You'll Bring to Our Team
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of experience in technical editing.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat.
- Strong technical and engineering comprehension.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated expertise in grammar and syntax.
- Keen attention to detail and commitment to high-quality desktop publishing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or equivalent professional experience.
- Familiarity with GE Appliances’ digital systems and processes is a plus.
Working Conditions
- Standard office environment.
- Occasional weekend or evening work may be required.
