In Touch/Life & Style Associate Social Media Editor

About the position
The Associate Social Media Editor for InTouch and Life&Style is a part-time remote position focused on managing and creating engaging content for various social media platforms. This role is essential for driving traffic to the InTouch and Life&Style websites and enhancing audience engagement through strategic content programming and community management.

Responsibilities

  1. Support the daily output of InTouch and Life&Style content to Facebook, Instagram, and X to drive traffic back to the sites.
  2. Work with the Social Media Director to engage and grow audiences across various social platforms.
  3. Work with the editorial team to prioritize content and strategize best distribution for content.
  4. Create original content and source UGC content to drive engagement & conversation.
  5. Assist with community management to drive authentic interactions, maintain brand image and tone across all social platforms.
  6. Identify trending and viral news to support driving sessions through social platforms.
  7. Leverage insights to create clever angles and shareable headlines.
  8. Support content distribution strategies through promotion tactics including repromotion and recycling top posts across platforms.
  9. Implement new social media tactics and tests.
  10. Assist with major initiatives as well as day-to-day news operations, video, social takeovers, and more.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor's Degree
  2. 2+ years of experience in media and/or publishing.
  3. Excellent writing skills with a strong command of AP style.
  4. Demonstrable experience identifying shareable and viral content for a sizeable social media account.
  5. Strong knowledge of social media platforms and trends.
  6. Basic understanding of the native tools and insights.
  7. Experience with social publishing software such as True Anthem, Social Flow, or Dash Hudson.
  8. Comfortable with Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office.

  4. Flexible and has the ability to shift gears quickly between multiple campaigns and projects.
