Senior Editor — In Touch, Life & Style, Closer Weekly

Looking for an experienced and confident senior editor who is goal oriented and passionate about celebrity and entertainment news. S/he will report directly to the lead digital editor and work with the other senior editors to edit and oversee all digital content while also maintaining high standards for quality and accuracy.

Responsibilities Include:

• Help the digital editor lead a team of full-time staff members who are located around the country.
• Edit a high volume of daily content, from long features and galleries to breaking news items, verifying everything meets company standards.
• Track celebrity, pop culture and viral news throughout the day, as well as In Touch, Life & Style and Closer Weekly’s internal reporting, to break and prioritize news stories, and assign them to writers.
• Assist in strategically planning content for events, and react with smart follow-ups to breaking news.
• Ensure all content is on-brand, accurate, fair, balanced, and of the highest quality.
• Mentor younger writers and editors.
• Consistently track traffic and site metrics to help increase pageviews, sessions and other editorial goals.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience editing and writing for a competitive, high-volume, news-driven celebrity and pop culture website.
• At least 3 years’ experience managing others.
• Strong understanding of SEO and Google Analytics.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced breaking news environment.
• Solid news judgment and editorial instincts.
• Ability to multitask and work on deadline.
• Familiarity with all social media platforms.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, holidays, special events and for awards shows.

Salary Range: $75,000 - $80,000
