Senior Software Defined Radio Engineer (SDR)

Overview of Opportunity

Two Six Technologies is seeking an impact-focused Senior Software Defined Radio (SDR) Engineer to design and implement hardware and software for DSP/SDR systems. Engineers will perform architecture design, software development, implementation, testing, analysis, and debugging to contribute to innovative R&D programs in Arlington, Virginia. We are looking for candidates with expertise in RF electronics design, RF protocol analysis, and SDR development. This role involves using C/C++ and Python while applying RF expertise to develop cutting-edge RF applications in support of mission-critical projects.

What you will do:

  • Design and implement bespoke SDR solutions using COTS hardware and software with C/C++, GNU Radio, or Python in a Linux environment.
  • Detect, identify, and decode captured RF waveforms.
  • Perform RF signal reception and transmission using various modulation schemes, including FSK, PSK, and QAM.
  • Solve technical challenges in communications, signal collection, data processing, and electronic warfare domains.
  • Design and execute experiments and prototypes in well-equipped laboratory facilities featuring SDR hardware, FPGA development systems, and RF signal test and measurement equipment.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and SDR development.
  • Lead a small team of engineers in a rapid prototyping environment.

What you will need (Basic Qualifications):

  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and Software Defined Radios (SDR) development experience.
  • Experience in SIGINT or communications systems development and test.
  • Demonstrated ability to architect and implement digital processing and SDR system solutions with real-world performance requirements.
  • Active Secret Clearance is required with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret/SCI security clearance.

Nice if you have (Preferred):

  • Experience with Linux-based DSP systems that span across CPUs, FPGAs, GPUs, and SDR platforms.
  • Experience with CUDA and GPU HW acceleration for DSP applications.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance.

Security Clearance:

  • Active Secret Clearance is required with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
