About the Role

Providing support to the sales team and playing a key role in successfully securing new business are your top priorities as Commercial Insurance Marketer at one of the country’s largest independent insurance agencies. Working within a team that is fast-paced and wins business with a consultative approach, they value your knowledge and high level of technical commercial property and casualty insurance expertise. With so much new business coming in, you will work closely with a senior producer and collaborate with others on the marketing and client service teams.

Duties & Responsibilities

As a part of the marketing group, you must understand online rating platforms and how to negotiate with underwriters. Additionally:

1. Thoroughly review insurance policies, requesting information needed to compile submissions including loss summaries, coverage analyses, property values, and other scheduled lists.
2. Prepare and submit accounts to insurance companies to secure competitive and comprehensive quotes, communicating directly with underwriters to answer questions and negotiate pricing and coverage terms and conditions.
3. Compile marketing summaries, rating worksheets, and ultimately client proposals, checking for accuracy and making recommendations based on which options you feel are best to present.

Skills & Experience

1. Minimum five (5) years of commercial insurance industry experience with strong technical knowledge in larger, complex commercial property and casualty insurance programs.
2. Agency experience highly preferred with in-depth understanding of the marketing life cycle, either directly from a similar placement role or as a function of working in account management. Non-agency experience in brokerage or underwriting positions will also be considered.
3. State insurance license.
