Professionals in this field create layouts and designs for logos, packaging, advertising, marketing collateral, and other published materials in print and online. They are responsible for selecting and arranging artwork, creating illustrations, choosing colors, and influencing the concept for the design. Knowledge of the latest graphic design software is essential.
Strong communication skills are important, as they frequently interact with other creative team members, such as production artists, writers, art directors, and creative directors. Intermediate skills in UI design and mid-level knowledge of UI design principles are required, along with some experience in design delivery and UI research.
Responsibilities include ensuring the quality and consistency of UI design deliverables, which can include mockups and clickable prototypes, design systems, assets for development handoff, simple animations, and anything else the product team might need. The role involves interpreting brand guidelines into digital UI for their product and collaborating closely with Product Designer (UX) partners and software engineers to facilitate UI reviews of live code.
This position offers the opportunity to upskill in design leadership through team process initiatives, leading communication with stakeholders, and establishing UI design practices.
