HBA Greater Cleveland is seeking a dynamic and versatile Marketing Communication Specialist with exceptional writing and organizational skills. This role requires a strategic thinker with attention to detail who thrives under pressure, meets deadlines, and adapts in a fast-paced environment. Candidates with expertise in Adobe InDesign and/or Canva will receive priority consideration.

Key Responsibilities

Communications Strategy & Content Creation:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive communication strategy in collaboration with the Executive Director.
  • Create and manage content for press releases, the company website, infographics, blogs, newsletters, and social media platforms.
  • Oversee the content and maintenance of the HBA’s website.
  • Serve as editor for the association’s newsletter by writing, obtaining, and editing articles; performing desktop publishing; and managing advertising.
  • Plan and create communications for general membership, including brochures, media kits, and publications.
  • Research and write articles for external publications on behalf of the association.
  • Attend HBA member events for promotional follow-up stories and articles.
  • Research and utilize NAHB marketing tools to enhance HBA marketing initiatives.

Operational Management:

  • Develop and implement administrative and operational policies that support organizational goals.
  • Monitor daily operations and workflow to ensure efficiency and quality of service.
  • Identify areas for improvement and recommend process enhancements.

Program Coordination & Community Engagement:

  • Assist in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of programs and services.
  • Collaborate with staff and volunteers to ensure effective and sustainable program objectives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community partners, members, and sponsors.
  • Represent the organization at local events and meetings to raise awareness and support for initiatives.

Publications & Membership Marketing:

  • Produce the association’s annual membership directory, “Who’s Who.”
  • Develop and maintain a system for media contacts and publication advertisers.
  • Help create membership marketing materials such as brochures and membership applications.

Financial Oversight & Staff Management:

  • Work with the finance team to prepare budgets, manage expenditures, and track financial performance.
  • Supervise a small team and coordinate volunteer efforts.
  • Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork and professional growth.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Expertise in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Publisher, Outlook).
  • Proficiency in desktop publishing tools such as Adobe InDesign and/or Canva.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and task prioritization abilities.
  • Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence tools and their applications in marketing.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud and Adobe InDesign
• Familiarity with Assertion Markup Language
• Experience with CAD Software
• Proficient in using Content Management System (CMS)
• Ability to create compelling Advertisements
• Experience in Blogging and creating engaging content
• Understands the importance of and can contribute to Brand Awareness
• Ability to design attractive Brochures
• Knowledgeable in Campaign Planning
• Has experience in Ad Copywriting and general Copywriting
• Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
