Position Type: Overnight Residential - Temporary Full-Time
Pay Rate: $250.00 weekly
About this opportunity:
Performs a variety of housekeeping duties for a camp; cleans restrooms, offices, and other camp facilities; washes, stores, and distributes linens; ensures the neatness and cleanliness of the camp facilities on a daily basis. Incumbent also functions as a music instructor to assist and support the musical component of the Music Conservatory Program.
Key responsibilities:
- Cleans camp facilities and offices; collects, washes, folds, stores, and distributes linens; ensures the accountability of linens.
- Maintains camper laundry schedule on rotation as well as daily laundering of camper laundry.
- Washes camper’s laundry and returns it to the counselor.
- Assists in securing linens for campers without proper linens.
- Monitors light fixtures to ensure all light bulbs are in working order; replaces light bulbs as necessary.
- Cleans and sanitizes bathrooms; cleans sinks and toilets, polishes mirrors, and replenishes supplies.
- Sweeps, vacuums, mops, and waxes floors; sweeps sidewalks.
- Cleans windows, dusts, and polishes furniture and fixtures.
- Guides the work of music instruction in helping children and youth to succeed in school by increasing their involvement and motivation; and helping them to set personal goals.
- Supervises the maintenance and daily operations of the program equipment.
- Maintains discipline and acceptable behaviors of students, creating an atmosphere of friendliness and security during all program periods.
- Assists with and supports an assigned group of campers during scheduled and unscheduled blocks of time in cooperation with camp rules and regulations.
- Promotes and stimulates participation of campers to ensure a pleasant camp experience.
- Participates and assists in various classes as assigned.
- Participates enthusiastically as a member of the camp staff team to deliver and supervise evening programs, special events, and other all-camp activities and functions.
- Sits with camper tables during meals and serves as a table monitor when needed.
- Keeps personal living quarters neat, clean, and ready for inspection.
- Be available to participate and assist with camp programs and activities as directed by the Conservatory Director.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Performs necessary ministry functions such as presenting approved devotional material to campers, praying with campers, or leading in Christian songs.
What we are looking for in you:
- No formal education or experience required.
Licenses and Certifications:
- CPR and First Aid Certification.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Some physical requirements of the Conservatory Housekeeping/Laundress position include endurance such as climbing, standing, some bending, stooping, and stretching. Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to manipulate housekeeping/laundress equipment and activities are required. Requires a normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate camper activities/programs and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Must have a willingness to live in a camp setting and work irregular hours. Operate with daily exposure to the sun and heat and varying environmental conditions.

Additional Information:
Camp Staff Orientation will be held June 9 – 15, 2025, and participation is required. The 2025 summer Camp program session will be held June 16 - July 19, 2025. If you are unable to work the entire session, please let us know on your application.
