If you want to know about the requirements for this role, read on for all the relevant information. 11111 Hwy 225 Laporte, TX 77571, USA The Technical Services Manager is responsible for overseeing aspects of the day-to-day radio wireless communications operations, managing and supporting new radio system deployments and temporary standalone systems. This position is also responsible for performing installations, inspections, maintenance, and repair of two-way radio equipment and other electronic communications, monitoring, and accessory equipment. Specific Job Duties and Responsibilities
Manage two-way radio communications site systems support, including collaboration with the sales group and operations team while providing effective operational support. Install, maintain, provide technical support and service of radio system equipment such as UHF/VHF and 800/900 MHZ on Analog, Digital, Capacity plus, Capacity linked, Capacity Max, Connect Plus, operate RDAC software and SCADA system. Make minor modifications to electronic circuitry (such as repeaters for SCADA system) per request and/or implement factory software/firmware updates. Operate portable radio equipment: consoles, microwave systems, mobile and using both conventional and trunked radio technology systems. Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair and resolve communication radio and repeater equipment issues with rental and customer equipment. Utilize network capabilities for setting up equipment and SCADA. Manage infrastructure projects that include new radio system installations or upgrades. Work with regional operational and sales partners on interoperability and shared wireless networks for different bandwidths we operate and service, including UHF/VHF and 800/900 MHz re-banding and narrow-banding processes. Responsible for Asset Management of Communication division equipment in Rental Man including cycle counts, equipment status, in/out, and asset additions & disposals. Determine need for additional equipment and commodity purchases in coordination with Management. Track and maintain all FCC licenses on behalf of Total Safety. Train and coach communication technicians to ensure operations directives and service goals are being carried out and techs continue to improve skillset. Display extensive working knowledge of industry standards and practices, including product details and company services offered and compliance for all quality, safety, training, and state and federal regulatory program requirements. Direct the use of company resources both personnel and equipment within operations to achieve maximum efficiency, profitability, and utilization of company resources. Oversee and collaborate in development of short and long-term strategic goals which align to support operational processes. Support all other special assignments as directed by Management. Qualifications
Education : Engineering or Technical college degree or equivalent professional experience. Experience : Minimum 8 years of operations experience in business-to-business technology rental and sales (preferably wireless). Minimum 5 years of management and/or supervision leading a team of technicians. Required Licenses or Specific Training : Must have a valid driver’s license from state of residence and valid proof of vehicle insurance. Must possess good driving record and be insurable for Total Safety vehicle insurance while driving company truck. Forklift experience preferred. Must have ability to pass internal forklift certification as required. Must be willing to travel to customers' sites and available for travel for short and long-term out-of-town and/or offshore projects. Wireless communication manufacturer licenses and training certifications are preferred. Must have the ability to pass manufacturer certifications as needed. Other Required Skills, Knowledge or Abilities : A proven track record in operations and management associated with rental services of wireless communication equipment. Must have a proven track record of being able to apply and maintain a broad understanding of financial management principles and operational budgets to ensure fiscally sound decisions. Demonstrates ability to sustain ongoing monitoring of fixed and mobile asset availability to determine need for additional purchases in coordination with Management. Must demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and understanding of FCC licensing and have the ability to apply, track and maintain all Total Safety FCC licenses. A strategic thinker who can use their analytic, organization, and observation skills to quickly understand concepts and/or needs and then effectively develop, execute, and manage programs and solutions. Demonstrates the ability to manage simultaneous projects of varying complexity and magnitude. Understand the importance of providing outstanding levels of customer service and is willing to assist and provide support to the sales team when/where needed. Stewards project plans and scoping tools to support project proposal development and project execution. Strong computer skills required (Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint). Interpersonal Communications Excellent at communicating and documented reporting with all levels of the internal/external organization including employees, customers, and Total Safety Communications hierarchy. Maintain the highest level of integrity and professionalism in carrying out the duties and responsibilities of the position. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; climb and stoop, kneel, or crouch. Uses hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. Shop and yard environment. May be frequently exposed to wet, humid, outside weather conditions and vibration. May be exposed to high pressure, chemicals, and shop traffic.
