What You'll Do
As an Event Planner, you'll manage events from conception through completion, delivering exceptional service and ensuring seamless execution for both internal and external clients. Responsibilities include:
- Event Management: Plan and oversee a variety of events, including member engagement activities, weddings, receptions, corporate gatherings, and other social occasions, while adhering to strict deadlines and budgets.
- Event Planning: Coordinate logistics, food service, entertainment, décor, and staffing. Optimize processes through event planning software and ensure efficiency.
- Vendor Relationships: Build and maintain relationships with external vendors, negotiate contracts, and oversee deliverables.
- Client Experience: Ensure exceptional client experiences by managing all phases of events, including preparation, execution, and post-event follow-up.
- Internal Communication: Act as the central point of communication between internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure flawless event execution.
- Advocacy & Outreach: Promote the museum's event spaces through outreach, marketing, and relationship-building within the community.
- Best Practices: Stay informed about industry trends, government regulations, and design innovations, proactively identifying opportunities to improve operations.
We're seeking a motivated professional with the following qualifications and skills:
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- 1-3 years of experience planning upscale events such as weddings, corporate events, and other social occasions.
- Core Competencies:
- Attention to detail and the ability to manage complex event logistics.
- Adaptability to respond to unexpected changes and challenges.
- Strong emotional intelligence and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, including public speaking and collaborative problem-solving.
- Organizational prowess to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
- Financial acumen to ensure decisions align with budgetary goals.
- Technological proficiency to leverage event management tools and software.
- Commitment to inclusion, respecting diverse perspectives and cultural backgrounds.
Competitive Salary:
- Annual starting range: $46,762 - $52,653
