Position Overview
You will be responsible for designing and recording the software procedures and practices utilized in the delivery of aircraft maintenance and operating materials in a range of hard copy and digital forms, while also overseeing the Technical Media division. Working closely with IT and its implementation partners, the Technical Media Manager will oversee a large-scale, intricate software implementation program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, carry out, and oversee/manage the deployment of a Content Management System (CMS) in close collaboration with information technology, stakeholders, and implementation partners, both internal and external.
  • Establish and record CMS procedures, and organize a CMS training program for our entire organization.
  • Oversee the integration of CMS and ArborText into the procedures for developing and distributing technical publications.
  • Communicate goals to team members and support overall business objectives using weekly/monthly reporting, financial input, and annual goals.
  • Collaborate with Information Technology, Field Service, Configuration Management, and other departments throughout the implementation of new media management tools and processes, and to redefine the deployment of Technical Publications on our website and authorized service center websites.
  • Create and keep up-to-date documentation of the procedures and quality assurance measures incorporated into the new Technical Publications systems that can be sent upon request to the FAA and other regulatory organizations.
  • Always seek methods to enhance documentation and service.
  • Oversee the Technical Publications team members' performance evaluations, staffing, resource allocation, coaching, and career advancement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in computer science, engineering, technical writing, technical communication, English, or a similar discipline.
  • Strong editing, proofreading, and writing abilities.
  • Proven experience in Technical Communication and managing technical documentation.
  • Strong knowledge of Content Management Systems (CMS).

Nice to Have:

  • Ability to work with XML in Darwin Information Typing Architecture (DITA).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical papers, technical specifications, and engineering drawings.
  • Proficiency in Adobe FrameMaker & Acrobat, PTC Creo View, DITA, and PTC ArborText.
