The Job
We’re looking for an experienced Global Head of PR + Communications to drive Flo’s PR and Communications forward during a six-month period while our current Global Head of Communications is on maternity leave. In this role, you will carry forward our global communication strategy, ensuring proactive and consistent thought leadership across all markets. You will effectively manage communications across various time zones, adapting your approach to meet the diverse needs of our global audience.
Your Experience
Must have:
- Extensive experience in global communications, with a minimum of 10+ years in the field and a proven track record of developing and executing successful product launches, executive thought leadership, and crisis communications.
- A strong rolodex of reporters and media wins to prove it.
- 5+ years of crisis communication expertise, with the ability to manage crisis communications effectively, including the development of crisis communication plans.
- Collaborative leadership skills, having worked closely with C-level executives to align communication strategies with business objectives.
- Strong writing and editing skills, with an exceptional ability to craft clear, concise, and engaging content for diverse audiences.
- Experience managing an external PR agency and understanding the importance of maintaining consistent communication to ensure results.
- Previous experience in an app or tech environment, particularly in a startup or scale-up context.
Nice to have:
- Experience in femtech or related industries, with familiarity in the health technology sector.
- Cultural competence, with knowledge of international markets and cultural nuances.
- Experience in proactive campaign development.
- Digital communication proficiency.
- Crisis communication training.
- Experience collaborating with an external SEO agency.
What you'll be doing
You'll be responsible for:
- Leading global communication strategy: Developing and implementing a comprehensive global communications strategy that aligns with Flo’s business objectives.
- Crisis communication management: Crafting and executing crisis communication plans to manage potential issues.
- Proactive campaign development: Creating proactive communication campaigns that educate users about Flo’s product updates.
- Media relations: Cultivating relationships with key media contacts to secure coverage that supports Flo’s brand narrative.
- Collaborating with C-level executives: Working closely with senior leadership to ensure that communication strategies reflect organizational goals.
- Collaborating across teams + managing external agencies: Working with key stakeholders including Flo’s science, medical, product marketing, and brand team.
- Monitoring communication metrics: Analyzing the effectiveness of communication strategies through metrics.
- Guiding social media responses: Providing guidance on social media responses in collaboration with the brand team.
You'll be targeted on:
- Securing a steady drumbeat of media coverage for Flo.
- Securing speaking opportunities for C-level executives.
- Securing awards and recognition for Flo's achievements.
- Developing proactive campaigns aimed at educating users about Flo's privacy and security measures.
- Monitoring media sentiment and engagement.
