About the Role Culmen International is currently seeking a talented Communication Specialist to support the National Intrepid Center of Excellence (NICoE). The NICoE is dedicated to improving the lives of service members affected by traumatic brain injury (TBI) and other invisible wounds of war through excellence in clinical care, research, and education. This position is 100% on-site,

Bethesda, MD.

As the headquarters of the 13-site Defense Intrepid Network for TBI and Brain Health (DIN), NICoE plays a pivotal role in fostering collaboration among providers, researchers, and support staff dedicated to healing the invisible wounds of war. What You’ll Do in Your New Role The success of the NICoE program depends on clear, consistent, and open communication between the program team, NICoE leadership, DoD, DHA, and WRNMMC, and NSA Bethesda. This position serves to raise awareness, publicize and coordinate media, events, and above all share information for smooth operations and program efficiencies. Our staff will work with client leadership to assess the current communication plan, messaging, and channels and provide a recommendation for a way forward. Our efforts will focus on planning and executing media, public events, and campaigns to promote and support clinical programs, benefits, and features of DIN. Support includes the following work functions: Support all program outreach efforts targeting various stakeholders. Support efforts to conceptualize and produce informational, educational, training, research, and analytical materials. Support Communications team in creation and submission of NICoE content including the annual report, newsletters, and other PMO deliverables. Develop social media strategy in line with Executive team guidance, to include regular delivery of content and updates to internal and external audiences. Engage with Public Affairs for approvals and clearances of communications materials. Assess the level of outreach success on an ongoing basis, recommending any changes to the outreach strategy. Create engaging graphics, text, image, and video content. Support media efforts including photography/videography projects. Report on online reviews and feedback from customers and fans. Provide distinguished visitor and tour support for NICoE. Support response to taskers as needed. Required Qualifications

A minimum of

three years

of responsible work experience relevant to media relations, communications, marketing, and/or design; or A minimum of one year of experience relevant to media relations, communications, marketing, and/or design paired with a relevant

bachelor’s degree . Desired Qualifications

Experience with social media strategy, design, and management, including skills such as graphic design, photography, writing. Experience developing professional executive content such as presentations or briefings.
