Senior Marketing Manager

About the Role We are seeking an experienced marketing and communications professional who can plan, oversee, and implement effective marketing campaigns and activities that support the SPARK NS mission of advancing academic discoveries in neuroscience from lab to clinic. As a nonprofit translational science organization, SPARK NS provides funding and support to academic researchers developing therapeutics for neurological disorders. Our marketing and communications focus is on building our brand and expanding our reach among biomedical researchers and other stakeholders in the global drug discovery and development community. The goal for this community is to ensure they know about SPARK NS translational research programs and how our programs can help them successfully navigate the drug development process. The role will report to the Communications Director and partner with cross-functional stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree and 10-15 years’ relevant marketing experience. This role is onsite in Menlo Park, California five days per week. Responsibilities Collaborate with SPARK NS staff (Executive Director, Translational Research, Programs, Education, HR) to develop and implement thought leadership, educational, and promotional programs that increase the visibility and understanding of SPARK NS and grow our following among academic biomedical researchers and other stakeholders in the global drug discovery and development community. Develop an editorial and multimedia content strategy for SPARK NS, oversee content creation, and build and manage a library of multimedia assets (royalty-free photography, video, audio, illustrations, infographics, and graphical images) to support written content; collaborate with external resources (digital agencies, graphic designers) for original multimedia asset creation as needed. Manage our LinkedIn presence (organization page, profiles, ads) and establish a presence for SPARK NS on other relevant social media platforms. Initiate and manage ongoing email marketing campaigns to continually grow and validate our database of academic researchers. Oversee the design and production of digital and printed assets and external marketing and internal employee communications materials and collateral that meet high quality standards, support our mission and programs, are aligned with our brand identity, and comply with our brand guidelines. Support website updates, additions, and blog posts to enhance SPARK NS visibility while ensuring consistency with branding and messaging; apply SEO/SEM strategies to amplify visibility. Track, monitor, and measure the effectiveness of online marketing activities by consolidating data from various sources (website analytics, LinkedIn metrics,email campaigns), and produce periodic reports with actionable recommendations. Organize and maintain SPARK NS digital and print branded assets for easy access and retrieval and coordinate the distribution of branded assets and brand usage guidelines to internal and external stakeholders; ensure proper usage. Minimum Qualifications A bachelor’s degree, 10-15 years’ marketing experience in a similar role, and demonstrated ability to develop and execute a broad range of marketing and communications strategies in mission-driven organizations. Excellence in the development and implementation of digital campaigns that engage, inform, and motivate, and digital print assets at a high-level of creativity and quality. Strong knowledge of content development and SEO/SEM strategies. Experience with digital marketing analytics; familiarity with website analytics is essential. Excellent interpersonal and cross-functional collaboration skills and ability to build relationships across diverse stakeholders. Ability to consistently make informed decisions in a growth environment. Proven ability to manage multiple and competing priorities simultaneously, while maintaining an attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google applications (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Analytics), design applications (Canva, Figma), LinkedIn (profiles, company page, ads), website content management systems and analytics tools, CRM systems, and email marketing platforms. Travel From time to time, travel domestically and internationally as required. Benefits Competitive Pay: $160,000 - $190,000, based on qualifications and experience.
