We are seeking a talented and versatile Product Designer to join our early-stage startup. As a key member of our team, you’ll work closely with the CEO and product development team to craft and shape the vision, functionality, and overall experience of our core product. This role goes beyond UI/UX design, taking a holistic view of product design and development to ensure that every feature and interaction aligns with our mission and enhances the user journey.
The ideal candidate is not only skilled in user interface and experience design but also a strategic thinker who can contribute to product development decisions.
Job Responsibilities:
- Holistic Product Design: Partner with stakeholders to define product vision, identify user needs, and shape features that align with our mission and business objectives.
- UI/UX Design: Create intuitive and visually engaging user interfaces for mobile and web applications, ensuring a seamless user experience across all touchpoints.
- User Research & Testing: Conduct user research, usability testing, and analyze feedback to inform design decisions and drive continuous improvement.
- Prototyping & Iteration: Develop wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs, iterating based on user feedback and analytics.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure designs are feasible, scalable, and implemented effectively.
- Design Systems & Guidelines: Establish and promote a cohesive design system and best practices to ensure consistency across all products and features.
- Problem Solving: Take a proactive approach to identifying user pain points and designing creative, user-centric solutions.
Job Qualifications:
- Experience: 2+ years of experience as a Product Designer, UI/UX Designer, or a similar role in a tech or startup environment.
- Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing end-to-end product design processes, from user research and ideation to final designs and shipped products.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and other industry-standard tools.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to think beyond individual features and design the product with a long-term vision in mind.
- User Research Expertise: Experience conducting user research, usability testing, and interpreting data to inform design decisions.
- Collaboration: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team.
- Adaptability: Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment with shifting priorities and opportunities.
- Preferred Location: Based in the NY or SF area and comfortable with a hybrid work model (2-3 days in-person/week).
