Description
The Content Writing/Production Specialist combines creativity and technical expertise to produce high-quality written, visual, and multimedia content for the city's communication platforms. This role ensures consistency in messaging and branding while creating engaging content that informs and connects with the community.

- Write and edit high-quality content, including captions, articles, scripts, storyboards, and promotional materials tailored for various platforms and audiences.
- Design graphics, infographics, videos, and animations for social media, the city website, and print materials, ensuring consistency with the city's branding and messaging.
- Develop scripts and storyboards for videos, ensuring alignment with the city's communication goals and audience needs.
- Capture photos and videos at city events to create a library of reusable visual and multimedia assets.
- Collaborate with the Communications Specialist to develop cohesive, visually compelling campaigns and daily updates.
- Optimize written and multimedia content for different platforms, ensuring accessibility and engagement for diverse audiences.
- Create presentations, marketing collateral, and other materials to support city initiatives and events.
- Maintain and update the city's website with fresh written and visual content to enhance user experience and engagement.
- Research and implement innovative tools or techniques to improve content production, delivery, and audience engagement.
- Assist in the development and implementation of strategic communication plans.
- Maintain key performance measures to evaluate the effectiveness of citywide communication efforts.
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Graphic Design, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in content creation, graphic design, or multimedia production.
- Must possess a valid State of Florida driver's license with a satisfactory driving record throughout employment.
- Strong portfolio showcasing written content, graphic design, and video production, including scripts and storyboards.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro) and digital publishing tools.
- Strong writing and editing skills for scripts, short-form, and long-form content.
- Experience in photography, videography, and video editing, with an emphasis on storytelling.
- Familiarity with website content management systems (e.g., WordPress) and basic HTML/CSS knowledge is a plus.
- Understanding of public sector branding and communication needs is preferred.
- Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through personal contact, the use of the telephone and/or other City-issued technology devices. Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach and twist under desks and around furniture; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull moderate to heavy amounts of weight up to 20 lbs.; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and toverbally communicate to exchange information.
