Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach assigned courses in the Discipline and/or Interdisciplinary Studies.
- Maintain a minimum of one office hour per week for each course taught.
- Prepare course syllabus and reports related to teaching and student progress.
- Work under the supervision of the department chairperson in integrating teaching efforts with other instructors in the discipline area.
- Duties and responsibilities may include work with multi-media presentations and distance education instruction.
Minimum Qualifications
As listed below. All minimum qualifications must be from institutions accredited by recognized US accrediting agencies and met by the effective date of appointment. ART (New Media):
- Master's in Fine Arts in Studio Art with a specialization in new media art or a related area of study (i.e. design, animation, digital art, digital media, multi-media, computer graphics, film, etc.) and one (1) year related industry experience; or
- Any Master's degree with coursework in new media art or a related area of study and three (3) years related industry experience; or
- Any Bachelor's degree with coursework in new media art or a related area of study and five (5) years related industry experience; or
- Any Associate's degree with coursework in new media art or a related area of study and seven (7) years related industry experience.
Desirable Qualifications
- Teaching experience at the community college level.
- Demonstrated ability to work with adult learners.
- Familiarity with competency-based instruction and behavioral objectives.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.
- Experience in curriculum development.
