Description
The University Library at Georgia State University is seeking a Library Associate II (Digitization Lab Supervisor) to join their Digital Projects unit. This position is responsible for supervising student assistants, implementing digitization processes, and maintaining equipment.
Responsibilities
- Supervise Student Assistants, including hiring, training, and conducting quality control of their work.
- Manage the retrieval, processing, and preparation of library materials for digitization.
- Oversee equipment and process maintenance and evaluation.
- Provide technical support for digitization equipment and liaise with vendors.
- Utilize scanners and cameras to convert materials into digital images.
- Create original metadata for digital assets.
- Participate in special initiatives and projects.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and five years of progressively responsible library experience, including three years in the assigned functional area, or a combination of education and related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in photography or a related field.
- Experience with digital photography in special collections, libraries, or museums.
- Proficiency in image processing software such as Adobe Photoshop.
- Familiarity with image standards like FADGI and ISO.
- Experience with Digital Transitions equipment.
