Description: The Drupal Web Developer is responsible for building, maintaining, and enhancing the organization's digital infrastructure, including multiple websites, online products, and associated integrations. This role combines hands-on development expertise, systems administration, and leadership skills to move projects from conception to completion. The role also requires thorough documentation of system and application functionality, technical specifications, integration solutions, and reference architecture to support scalability and consistency across platforms. A successful candidate will be highly proficient in program management, capable of crafting detailed project plans and schedules, and comfortable working collaboratively in a team-driven, nonprofit environment.
Responsibilities: This role is essential to the success of our digital strategy and plays a significant part in achieving the organization’s broader mission. • Oversee existing code bases' architecture and technical development, suggesting enhancements and implementing new features. • Develop custom code for Drupal websites and configure them to meet diverse programmatic needs while ensuring security and performance standards are met. • Manage integration and data flow between Conservancy and partner websites through APIs and other technical solutions. • Create responsive, scalable web experiences optimized for multiple devices and platforms, including custom web pages, microsites, and responsive email templates. • Perform rigorous quality assurance (QA) and visual site validation across browsers and devices. • Support e-commerce initiatives by managing Shopify stores and creating promotional materials such as emails and lightboxes. • Integrate volunteer database functionalities to streamline data accessibility and improve workflows. • Perform other duties as needed and assigned support organizational objectives, including but not limited to: QA and visual site validation on all our websites across multiple platforms and browsers. Document and train Conservancy staff on how to use content management, CRM, and project management tools. Creation of runbooks and instructional material for Conservancy staff Because this role is part of the IT organization, it is essential that the person has a customer service focus, not just on Web development but on all IT and project management aspects.
Technical Expertise: o Drupal: versions 7, 8, 10 o Drupal migration to version 10 o Proficiency in web development technologies: * PHP * HTML5 * CSS * JavaScript * jQuery * Responsive design. o Project management experience o Linux security experience, including implementing security fixes and software upgrades. o Experience managing APIs, data integrations, and cross-platform functionality.
