The Director of Sales oversees the company's Sales and Marketing programs to drive revenue growth and increase profitability. This role involves strategic planning, implementation, and management of sales initiatives, including recruiting, training, motivating, monitoring, and evaluating the sales team.
The Director is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve the company’s growth and customer retention objectives.
A key focus of the role is expanding the customer base while maintaining strong relationships with existing clients.
The Director will also create and implement innovative business development strategies to penetrate new markets and increase brand awareness, lead sales activities across assigned markets to maximize profitability, and collaborate with the Marketing team to generate qualified leads and enhance brand visibility.
Responsibilities Develop and administer sales strategies to achieve company growth objectives and retention goals. Conduct SWOT analyses, including evaluating competitive threats and identifying opportunities Participate as a member of the Executive Team in strategizing and addressing key corporate issues, including sales and gross profit performance. Coach and mentor the sales team for continuous improvement and high performance Set and monitor sales and gross profit targets and develop plans to exceed them. Establish goals, objectives, and budgets for the sales department. Collaborate with operations managers to coordinate sales goals and maximize profitability. Ensure the integrity of the CRM, including maintaining an accurate sales pipeline and updated reporting
Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of sales high leadership experience in the transportation industry, with knowledge of international and domestic services, including customs brokerage. Proven track record of achieving sales growth and exceeding targets. Ability to analyze complex documents and respond to sensitive inquiries. Skilled in crafting effective and persuasive presentations for leadership and public audiences. Proficient in calculations involving financial data, statistics, percentages, and metrics, as well as interpreting financial statements. Highly analytical with the ability to solve abstract and complex problems using logical thinking.
