Responsibilities
The Division of Biomedical and Scientific Visualization, strategically positioned in the Department of Education at Mayo Clinic, is growing and expanding. Join our team to explore new ways of using your skills and knowledge to expertly communicate complex biomedical information, exemplifying Mayo Clinic’s standards of quality and excellence.
As part of our in-house team, the Medical Animator provides direct service to clients across the entire enterprise. In collaboration with surgeons, faculty, and other medical professionals, you will produce 3D models and 2D/3D animations depicting biomedical and scientific content for professional publications, presentations, and educational curricula, including immersive XR experiences. Duties include all aspects of animation development. Proficiency and passion for developing content for immersive medical XR experiences and expertise in XR technologies and platforms is preferred.
This position is a combination of remote and onsite support work. Individual must live within driving distance to the Mayo Clinic Rochester campus.

Qualifications
Master's degree (MS, MFA or MA) in the field of Medical Illustration or a Bachelor's degree in Fine Art, Graphic Art or Human Sciences (preferably drawing animation and/or biology), from an accredited university, college, or school of design with a minimum of eight years of successful and relevant professional experience in the field of medical animation and/or medical illustration. A portfolio is required for review.
