Position Summary
Assist with daily media relations and communications duties related to UGA’s 21-sport varsity athletic program. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign is beneficial. Basic sports writing skills and social media capability also required. Grady College or Sport Management majors preferred. Students will be assigned certain sports to assist with Game Day operations. Having a flexible schedule and working nights and weekends are required. Students will also assist with office/clerical operations of the Sports Communications department which includes answering phone calls, scanning documents, special projects and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies.
Physical Demands
Stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, feel; and reach with hands and arms. Will occasionally sit and talk or hear. Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Close and distance vision, and peripheral vision. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but escalates to high during athletic competitions.
