Position Title: Assistant Director of Multimedia & Creative Production

Responsibilities:

  1. Produce high-level video content for Ball State Athletics, including shooting and editing dynamic pieces for all sport platforms (website, social channels, television network, in-venue, live production, etc.).
  2. Responsible for content creation plans and execution for assigned sports and projects.
  3. Serve as liaison between Athletics and University Media Services and Sports Link.
  4. Work closely with Athletics Communications and external departments to ensure full integration and interactivity with all digital platforms.
  5. Oversee a staff of student assistants while recruiting, mentoring, and collaborating with students and department staff on all aspects of photo and video production.
  6. Travel with various Ball State Athletics sports teams, as assigned, to capture, edit, and develop event-related footage.
  7. Plan, develop, and implement goals and objectives for Athletics Communications as they relate to video and multimedia applications, particularly for live and on-demand video content.
  8. Identify creative avenues and new technologies to enhance the university athletics brand, university core values, and NCAA philosophy across campus and to the surrounding community.
  9. Potential opportunity to serve as communications contact for assigned sports.
  10. Show commitment to and responsibility for adherence to all rules and regulations of Ball State University, the Mid-American Conference, and the NCAA.
  11. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Graphic Design, Multimedia, or a related field of study by date of employment.
  • One year of experience in an athletics environment.
  • Good interpersonal, management, and organizational skills.
  • Authorization to work in the US without employer sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three years of experience in a NCAA Division 1 athletic department.
  • Strong content creation background, creative ideas, and a proven track record for creating high-level content.
  • Ability to work in a team/collaborative environment is critical.
