Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Façade Design Manager to oversee the design, coordination, and implementation of façade systems across various projects. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of façade engineering, materials, and construction methods, as well as a passion for delivering innovative and functional designs.
Key Responsibilities
- Design Management:
- Lead the development and coordination of façade design, ensuring alignment with architectural intent, engineering standards, and project requirements.
- Manage the design process from concept to completion, including detailed design, performance specifications, and technical submissions.
- Team Coordination:
- Collaborate with internal teams, architects, consultants, and contractors to ensure seamless integration of façade systems with the overall project.
- Supervise and mentor a team of designers, engineers, and subcontractors to deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Technical Expertise:
- Evaluate and select appropriate materials, systems, and technologies for façade design.
- Ensure compliance with structural, thermal, acoustic, and safety performance standards.
- Project Management:
- Oversee project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure timely delivery.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies for façade-related challenges.
- Stakeholder Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all façade-related matters, addressing client concerns and ensuring satisfaction.
- Present design concepts and technical details to stakeholders, providing clear explanations and recommendations.
Requirements
- A degree in Architecture, Civil/Structural Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in façade design, engineering, or construction.
- Proven track record of managing complex façade projects, preferably in commercial or high-rise construction.
- Strong knowledge of façade materials (glass, aluminium, cladding, etc.), systems, and relevant codes/standards.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and façade-specific tools like Rhino or Grasshopper.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
