Job Description

As a Video Editor at Chegg Skills, you will be responsible for editing videos and creating basic motion graphics animations for our educational content. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in video editing, proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, and a strong portfolio showcasing their editing and motion graphics skills. The Video Editor will report to the Senior Video Producer, working closely with other members of the team to ensure the production of high-quality educational videos.

Responsibilities:

1. Edit education-focused videos based on provided scripts, ensuring smooth transitions, appropriate pacing, and seamless audio-video synchronization.
2. Work with AI tools such as ChatGPT for scripting/outlining, text-to-speech generators for voice over, etc.
3. Create basic motion graphics animations to enhance video content.
4. Work with the senior video producer to understand project requirements and deliver high-quality videos that meet our educational standards.
5. Collaborate with the team to brainstorm and develop creative ideas for video content.
6. Utilize stock footage and images effectively to enhance video content.
7. Work with and customize design and motion templates to maintain brand consistency.
8. Trim and optimize videos to ensure optimal file size and playback quality.
9. Maintain a good eye for design, aesthetics, and overall video quality.
10. Organize video files, tracking docs, and other organizational tools to track and hand off video files and edits.

Requirements:

1. Minimum 3 years of professional experience in video editing and motion graphics.
2. Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.
3. Demonstrated experience editing educational videos is preferred.
4. Ability to work with stock footage and create basic custom animations.
5. Familiarity with design templates and maintaining brand consistency.
6. Familiarity with DAM video management tools, such as Kaltura.
7. Strong eye for design, pacing, and trimming.
8. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
9. Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
10. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
