Youth Services Librarian, Hampstead Public Library (Hampstead, NH)

Join Hampstead Public Library’s team as our new Youth Services Librarian!

Are you passionate about inspiring young minds, fostering creativity, and promoting lifelong learning? We’re looking for a dynamic, tech-savvy Youth Services Librarian to lead exciting programs, engage with the community, and make a lasting impact on the youth of Hampstead.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Plan and present engaging programs for children and young adults.
  2. Build strong relationships with local schools, homeschoolers, and community groups.
  3. Curate dynamic collections and develop creative book displays.
  4. Seek grants and donations to support youth initiatives.
  5. Provide reader advisory services and assist with library resources.
  6. Collaborate with a library assistant on teen programming.

What We’re Looking For:

  1. Creative, energetic individual with a passion for working with youth.
  2. Tech-literate and up-to-date with library trends.
  3. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  4. MLS preferred, 3 years’ experience in libraries or equivalent relevant experience.

Salary range: $30- $32 per hour, full-time, non-exempt.

Qualifications

  1. Master of Library Science degree preferred, from ALA-accredited program.
  2. Knowledge such as would be required through a pertinent baccalaureate educational program or its equivalent in experience, training or independent study.
  3. Approximately 3 years experience working with children in a library environment.
