Page/Shelver (Franklin Library) Part-Time

The Williamson County Library’s Main Branch in Franklin is accepting applications for a part-time Page/Shelver. This position assists with circulation department procedures and works to re-shelve library materials. Responsibilities include maintaining the library collection in a neat and orderly fashion, performing alphabetic and numeric sorting and filing tasks, shelf reading, and straightening materials on the shelves. The applicant will also empty the book drop and perform other duties as assigned.

Applicants should be familiar with the Dewey Decimal system, able to maintain a regular work schedule, and capable of performing moderately heavy physical work, including standing, walking, lifting, carrying, and reaching. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain a cooperative and courteous working relationship with the public, peers, and supervisors are essential. The position consists of 15 hours a week with a rotating weekend schedule.
