About this Position
The Destination MT team works to sustain and grow Montana’s economy. The programs work with the Marketing and Communications team to develop and use communications, advertising, produce promotional campaigns to showcase Montana and create awareness about the state as a place to visit and do business. Through data-driven strategies and grant programs, the team aims to preserve and promote the genuine character of Montana and partners to achieve a sustainable economic future for all.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, communications, public relations, marketing, public administration, or related field.
- Four years of combined job-related work experience in event management, communication, social media, website content development, facilitating, organizing, managing, and directing marketing and business development initiatives.
- Experience working with diverse stakeholder groups including contractors, business leaders, nonprofit leaders, elected officials and tribal nations preferred.
- Other combinations of related education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Knowledge of:
- Strategic planning and processes for brand management and creative development, including research tools and evaluation of results.
- Event planning and management.
- Qualitative and quantitative research methodology.
- Planning, managing, and executing marketing and communications initiatives.
- Social media management.
- Microsoft Office proficiency including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
Ability to:
- Build relationships with senior management and individuals from a variety of backgrounds and cultures, both internally and externally.
- Make decisions and solve problems.
- Organize, plan, and prioritize work.
