Job Summary

This position will provide lead direction to electronic security technicians to design, install, maintain, and repair electronic security systems for the MN National Guard for the protection of personnel and property. Systems will include intrusion detection, closed-circuit television, access control, perimeter security and related systems. The Electronic Security Systems Lead Technician will review resources to be protected, physical structures, risk and threat levels and determine appropriate electronic measures to meet regulatory requirements through coordination with end users, facilities staff and supervisors. System maintenance will occur on site and at the shop. This position often works independently and provides direction to end users and operators.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Position Qualifications:

  1. Able to pass a complete criminal background investigation.
  2. Possess (or are able to obtain) the appropriate military security clearance.
  3. Possess a valid MN Dept. of Labor Power Limited Technician License.
  4. Skills sufficient to effectively communicate with MN Army National Guard leadership and subordinates.
  5. Ability to follow oral and written directions sufficient to react quickly and appropriately in emergency situations.
  6. Ability to speak and read English sufficient to read and apply security procedures, write reports and deal with customers.
  7. Possess a valid Class D (basic/standard) state driver's license.
  8. Experience in design, installation, maintenance, and repair of Electronic Security and Monitoring Systems to include Intrusion Detection, Card Access Control, and Closed Circuit TV.
  9. Electronic Security Training Certification by the National Guard Bureau ARNG-ILI-ESS Program Office.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Military experience
  2. Experience and Knowledge of the Army National Guard Electronic Security Systems Program.
  3. Experience and Knowledge of the MN Army National Guard IT local and wide area network (LAN/WAN) communications Policies and Procedures.
