Primary PurposeMonitor open studio/lab hours of art and design dedicated spaces and assist with Metal Arts course activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Monitor student use of the designated art and design spaces during open labs/studios and clean up at the end of each shift.
- Responsible for the safety and security of the equipment in the classroom, ensuring all equipment is turned off and the room is locked and secure.
- May assist in art and design classes and events as needed, working around the student’s schedule.
- Handling of tools and materials according to safety guidelines.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and faculty from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to manage conflicts within and/or between groups and to work in a team environment.
- Ability to be accurate and detail-oriented.
- Ability to remain flexible and perform different tasks on a daily basis.
- Ability to provide consistent and dependable customer service.
- Ability to develop strong working relationships with people from different cultural backgrounds.
- Ability to use software including Microsoft Office Suite and email.
A flexible work schedule may be necessary due to the nature of the responsibilities. Opportunities may exist for nights and weekends. Must be able to function effectively indoors in an art and design studio/lab environment. Requires ability to write, read written materials and computer screens, and use telephonic conversations. Occasional lifting up to 40lbs may be required.
Minimum Requirements- Awarded and accepted Federal Work-Study for 2024-2025.
- Meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress for financial aid.

Preferred Qualifications- Experience with Metal Arts.
- Have taken Metal Arts courses.
- Knowledge of Metal Arts supplies and equipment.
