Locations
The Opera in the Schools Driver will be responsible for transporting members of the Opera in the Schools company to and from the Buffalo Airport, to and from Chautauqua County Schools, and other trips as needed. The driver will also aid in loading and unloading sets, props, costumes, and other production-related items. A valid Driver's License is required; CDL is not necessary, but experience driving van-sized transport vehicles is preferred.
Compensation
Compensation for this position starts at $15.50/Hour and can increase up to $17.50/Hour based on demonstrated experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities
- Use technology to track airlines for arrivals and departures and monitor weather conditions in relevant cities.
- Greet individuals in a courteous and professional manner.
- Load and unload luggage to and from the vehicle.
- Deliver luggage to the accommodation space if needed, which may include carrying suitcases up a flight of stairs.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary environment inside the vehicle.
- Ensure the exterior of the vehicle is clean.
- Provide guests with a “Welcome Packet.”
Schedule
Chautauqua Institution offers flexible schedules for seasonal employment during summer operations, starting annually in June and concluding in August. Employment may also be available earlier or later based on business needs. Schedules typically include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
Housing
Chautauqua Institution may provide limited housing options or assist in locating nearby housing arrangements based on business needs. Candidates should assume there are no employer-provided housing options unless stated otherwise.
